I didn't buy it, but I did pick it up for a friend.
Pulled it from its resting place of at least 10 years today.

Original owner bought it new for his kids to drive. First, his daughter, then it passed to his son. After his son finished college it sat around a lot. The car finally got booted to the yard. It sat there 10 years or so. The owner figured it was worth a lot and never agreed to sell.
My buddy (who I bought the 65 FB from), works with the son. The father died recently and then someone shot the windows out. The son mentioned that he was offered some money for it. My buddy had been after the father to sell but he wanted too much. The son agreed to $4,000. It is a 327 3 speed. The car has a Holley 4 barrel and keystone wheels but other than that it's all original, the father even kept all the original stuff that was removed, air cleaner, hubcaps, carb, etc.
I was working on the Coupe/Fastback conversion this morning with my buddy and he told me he made the deal yesterday and was anxious to go get it. So I said let's go!
I'm not Chebby guy but it is a neet car.

I would trade my 67 for a 67/8 Camaro. My wife wants one but wants it in addition to the 67 coupe.

Maybe I could trade the 65 FB for one? Not!

If he builds it right while keeping the cost somewhat under control, your friend might be laughing all the way to the bank.

People want some serious coin for those first generation Camaros if they are restored nicely...regardless of all original or restomod they still can bring in a few bucks.

He plans to keep it mostly stock. Maybe upgrade the drum brakes to disc but not much other mods.

boy weren't you saying that he was having a hard time finishing the projects he already has going. maybe he will cut you a deal on the other fast back.

'68 Camaro was my dream car through high school... 327 / 4 speed hardtop, jacked up enough to fit cragers and Pro Trac L60's out back, same spoiler as that, in a metallic burgundy color. '68 and '70 are the two best looking years in my opinion. Nice score for sure...

Nothing wrong with the first gen camero, good looking cars, would never own one.[nb]Unless I won the 500 million dollar powerball lottery[/nb] I my opinion the camero is the best thing for the Mustang, just compare the performance improvements Ford made to the Mustang when the camero was on the market as to when it was not. :steer
