68 Stang 289 air cleaner snout assembly

Been looking and looking but confess I'm not so hot with Googeling!
I have a stock/original 289 that came in my 68. I have the original air cleaner with the snout and the
exhaust manifold shroud that mates with the snout.

Problem is I'm missing the flapper, vacuum control and whatever else goes with the flapper.
Looking in my Osborn chassis assembly manual it shows C8F-9A626-F as the snout assembly.
I would appreciate any help completing this assembly. Not looking for cheap parts, original parts
needing refurbishing are fine. Needto know what to ask/search for.

Thanks in advance,

Slim/ Tom

This was helpful in that it confirmed what I have. It definitely should be the snorkel with the vacuum actuated flap.
Now to try to find those parts!

Thanks, Slim

That's the complete air cleaner assembly. Wants $100 buy it now. Frankly in my opinion that's not far out of line.
All need is the flapper and vacuum control (which is the hard part, I know!). Think I'll watch it and see if it sells,
maybe offer $50 or $60.

Thanks very much,
Slim

Wow, 10 years ago I used to buy them for $15 on ebay, blast and paint them, test and detail the vacuum motor, and resell on ebay for $45-50 ready to bolt on.

Right! Hey I bought my 68 vert in 77! Back then I considered it a keeper, not just a used car. Could buy a factory fender or quarter panel over the Ford parts counter for $80 or $90!

This air cleaner on ebay is in great shape, complete (dunno if it fully functions) would be ideal for someone doing a concours resto. I just like to have my car complete as produced originally. A little hard to justify $100 for an item
no one but me will ever know is there!!

I'll probably track this thing for a week then if it's still there I'll give in!

Update. Done a lot of searching. Found several "complete" air cleaners. Turns out
that the vacuum control either leaks or is missing. Searched for just the vacuum
control...no luck!
