70 disc assembly question

I'm re-assembling the front discs on my 70 coupe. There are thin steel spacers on each of the inner original pads, one on each pad. Ya' I forgot to look at these befor removal.

Question. Are these placed on the leading or trailing edge. My thought is leading, but I've seen where thinking has gotten me befor :ep

Thanks

Are you talking about anti-squeal shims, or actual mechanical parts of the brake? The aniti-squeal shim would basically only fit on one way, and is pretty much centered on the bad, with the piston hitting it. Use disk brake lube on it, to aid in not squealing.

Everything else is pretty visible in MonkeyStash's very good picture.

Great pic :)

Based on your pic I dido need to install the steal shims(or whaterver they are called) as you do not have them. I'll grab a pic of mine from the same angle which shows them already installed on my pads.
