70 Power Steering Questions

Forgive me for this dumb question. Looking at the power steering pump pulley for my 70 there is a provision in the center of the pulley for an allen wrench (I have one that fits in there perfectly). It looks almost like a plug is in there but I can't be sure. Is there any special way to get the pulley removed? I will be renting a pulley removal tool from one of the auto parts stores later today. I need to take off the power steering bracket and swap it for the correct one.

Ok. Got that. Apparently I had been given the wrong puller the first time around. Got it off just fine but that opened up a whole new can of worms...

I'm trying to sort out my power steering on my 70 428. Mainly the power steering pump, bracket and pulley. I picked up this setup originally for my 68 289 (some 5 or 6 years ago). It was off of a Cougar I believe (picked it up at a swap meet, that's what I was told). The bracket was wrong for sure (no part number, but it looks like a Boss 302 bracket actually). I have since picked up bracket C7AA-3A732-B, which I believe is the correct pump bracket for the 70 428 cars. Someone please correct me if I am wrong on this. Also, is there supposed to be a bracket on the back that connects to the back of the power steering pump to support the weight?

Next question. I installed the above mentioned power steering bracket. When I went to press on my power steering pulley, I noticed some clearance issues. In fact, I couldn't get the pulley pressed all the way on as it would rub against the new above mentioned bracket. There is no part number anywhere on the pulley. Is there a special power steering pump pulley for the 428 cars? I thought the pulley was universal for all 67-70 power steering pump pulley's?

Next question, which may relate to the previous question. My initial thought was that the remanufactured power steering pump I got with the setup was incorrect and that the shaft length was incorrect for my setup. There was a reman'd sticker on the back, but I could only get a partial number (01596406098). The pump has the Ford logo stamped into it and also has the following markings on the front of it - 308(could be a 6)09AA, 23, DSAP.

Any help anyone can lend to helping me sort this issue out would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah, I got it sorted out with the guys over on the 428CJ forum. I have the standard 351 setup and need a new pulley for sure. AF was the code for air conditioning and a 428. 80B is what I'm looking for (although an AG, AD or 6AA will work as well). Unfortunately coming across original 80B's is rare and the ones on ebay are going for $300. I paid $100 for the whole dang power steering setup so I'll be holding off on that until I can find a reasonably prices AG/AD/6AA.
