I just bought a 88 lx with a 351 windsor Its 30 over with 69 worked heads 600 lift cam 850 demon carb ITS A BEAST but warms up a little I think they took out good rad and put a junk three row changed thermostat got It to open up sucked rad dry filled back up doesnt run as warm bying three row aluminum any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you horselover 235 !!!!!!!!!

Check the timing...it can really screw with the temp if just a bit off.

Running lean can cause over heating too.

Not sure this could be an issue on the 351 but on the 302, there is a possibility of a reverse flow water pump and/or the timing cover being designed for the reverse flow pump.

I would look at anything else before the reverse flow issue.

just found out the two front cylinders on the right bank are running 150 degrees cooler than the rest :wtf :rant :bomb any clues are answers Ideas please reply thank you !!!!!!!!!!
