A good reason to own a gun

First of all, I've got 4 girls. Every year, some wet behind the ears little dork tries to come up with new ways to get them to have an interest in them. You see, I was a bad boy in school so I knew all the BS 'cause I used them myself so they now know the lines. Today, my 9 year old gets for the second year in a row a stuffed animal - puppy - from the same boy and this time a poem.

It reads:

Your eyes sparkle like Diamonds
I can see them so clearly
They are so beautifully like your face

by Gavin

I can't wait until some boy comes to the house... I'm all set up with the guns, knives, compound bows and my stuff from work - needles, paralytics and intubation equipment. I guess I should get some seat covers so they don't wet/soil my chairs.

I agree with Jack, wow 4 girls. Be glad you are not Indian and have to pay a Dowry for each girl. :roul
Kinda of a different case here. My daughter is 18 and her bf is 16, she is in college, he is a junior in high school. What do they have in common? They both play water polo.

Yep...just always happen to be cleaning the largest caliber gun you have or sharpening the biggest knife when they show up to pick up your little girl pretty much sets the tone. :thu

I had a gf's dad try the gun routine the first time he met me. Didn't work out as he planned, as I have been a gun nut from an early age. Spent the next hour or so yapping about guns and his 65/66 mustang sitting in the driveway.

I remember hearing Stallone interviewed once about when his teenage daughter started dating boys. He told each boy that this girl was his flesh and blood, so her body was part of his body. They should know that touching her is like touching him. The boy should think if Rambo would want to be touched where the boy was planning to touch stallone's daughter. Try that.

Hell...if I had a daughter that would be my perfect idea of a son-in-law. I would even give him pointers :thu

I live in the country so guns and bows are everywhere, but large bore needles and paralytics will hopefully set a different tone.

At 6'3" and 200 lbs when my daughter was dating....I just had to meet them at the door.....even now, the ones I might happen to meet are a bit cautious.....and my daughter is 40, divorced, and has two kids, 15 and 18 years old. Really funny to see some of them now......

Yep, me too. Liked the gun collection more than the princess. Dropped her pretty quick.

For some unknown "reason" or simply a "twist of fate", every boy that ever showed up to date my daughter met me for the first time while I was in uniform. A man wearing a .45 cal Glock and a Taser can have a good impact on curbing any potential "improprieties" when it comes to "daddy's little girl"! hehehehe

Eh, I think it has more to do with the uniform.

Here's a good song for you...

My boys are ten and luckily so far the only thoughts in their heads most days revolve around baseball, running, their X-box, watching sports center, etc.

They have a few girls that are friends now but so far they like the girls that aren't "girly girls" and prefer the more tom boy types that play Pokemon, X-Box, roller blades, etc, LOL!

Every year on New Years the boys have some friends over to spend the night. They wanted Rachael and Hanna to come over to the party this year but try explaining to a ten year old why it's not a good idea for them to spend the night, LOL!

A year ago they still thought girls had cooties but that seems to be changing quickly and I am not sure I am ready for all the non-sense that will come with them starting to date when they get a little older.

My girls are 12 and 14 and aren't allowed to date yet, but all their friends have seen me in uniform as well. Most are afraid of me too. It doesn't hurt that everywhere they go, guys I have worked with over the years see the girls and stop and say hi to them. When they see a squad car and aren't sure if that's one of Dad's "friends" watching them, they get worried. Once in a while I let them know somebody I know saw them somewhere doing something. Keeps em honest.

Like the man said, 6'1" 225 with a 9mm tends to get their attention...And keep it.

I bought the S&W 500 right after my daughter was born simply for this reason. The brass is big enough to write any boy's name on it and each one will be shown his own personalized bullet upon meeting him. My son will grow up knowing how crazy daddy is and should expect the same from other fathers.
