A little help with 2000 Expedition sound system

I have a 2000 Eddie Bauer Expedition 4x4 with 5.4 liter V-8 that I just love to death(one of my most favorites rides to drive) except for the gas mileage. LoL! It has all the trimmings except for the TV/DVD player that I did not want so I got the moonroof instead, all leather all my favorites. The stock Mach 1 sound system it came with was great and I have never had the desire to swap any of it out.

The problem, a couple of weeks ago, it just, stopped working out of nowhere as well as the rear window wiper.

Could it be a electrical short, or did the bass and the wiper just coincidentally go to crap and I happened to notice them not working at the same time?

Any ideas on how to test any of it to determine what the problem is. I would really like the bass back. I don't blast the bass but music just sounds really bad without it, even Mozart and Bach.

I'd say the odds of the two issues having anything related (other than they both stopped working!) is slim to none. How often do you use the rear wiper out there? It's a coincidence, I'm sure.

Check for a bad fuse on the wiper. Simple stuff first, remember. After that, I'd think potential wire issue given it routes through a lift gate and all. Over time a wire can break from all the flexing, etc. Pop off the back panel and test for power at the motor.

The stereo stopped altogether or you just lost the bass? Sounds like the unit failed.

Since 1999, last weekend was the first time I have ever tried using the rear wiper. LoL.

Only the bass is not working in regards to the sounds system.

There is nothing in common between the rear wiper and the stereo on your truck. The rear wiper motor is most likely bad, they go bad fairly often. On your radio concern, it will be much harder to diagnose. I can recommend you check fuse #1 in the under dash fuse panel. It should be a 25amp fuse. If it is blown, the subwoofer will be inop. Beyond that you most likely will need to take it to a dealer to diagnose your stereo concern.
