I fee many fine cars on this board, are most of you into modified mustangs ro in keeping them original? I plan to keep mine original and I just was wondering who we have on this board. I am a member of this board and Vintage Mustangs Forum but I like this board better.
 
My car is not stock.

And I, myself, prefer modified cars; though I can appreciate the effort that goes into restoring a car back to original.

My car looks stock on the surface but has modern mechanics in a lot of key places. I think that is the most common theme of cars on this forum from what I have seen
 
We can assist both. many of us have modified cars and like the modified cars better. I like the personal touches with an overall stock look.

My cars are "C" code so I feel like I can make them what I want. If I have a "K" code fastback I would do it stock down to the color!

+2. I know VMF has the concours forum for those looking into an exact restoration, many here know how the originals are supposed to look but simply choose to personalize their cars for a variety of reasons. I've modified mine as I enjoy driving it more with modern equipment and other things not available 40+ years ago.
 
This current car looks stock except for the color. Interior has '04 seats, 289 is built a bit, tranny is an AOD w/shift kit, 3.50/9" for a rear axle, discs up front. Out of 4 '66 Coupes I have owned in the past, one was stock. I prefer to make them the way I like them as I drive them all the time.

Nothing wrong with a stock setup for sure.
 
Midlife is about 95% stock. Wheels are bigger, radio is new, Koni shocks, smaller steering wheel, non-standard radiator... and other small things.

The sister forum to StangFix, http://www.concoursmustang.com/, is devoted to the purists.
 
I like the concours look. I try to hide my mods or make them look like something the factory could have done.
 
I hang out on two or three boards, each one has their place. I find this one pretty entertaining and good for some laughs. I have a '68 coupe that looks pretty stock but isn't when you look inside or under the hood. I'm building a convertible now that will look pretty close to stock inside and out (except for the color robbed from another year).
 
I like both, my coupe is 100 percent stock (I'm the original owner), and my fastback is very modified, but with a vintage look.

i feel the same way..
my car was totally stock when i got it.. only thing thats really stock is the motor and rear..
 
Mine is pretty much stock (looking) except for the normal upgrades and improvements and re pro parts. Your basic occasional driver. I like Mustangs from pure stock to highly modified and everything in between. :5
 
I think it's obvious that I prefer 100 point concourse correct restorations. But I think the real issue is this website. These guys and gals are my family. I can talk about dead cats, muffler bearings, how to fix this or where can I find that. I am addicted to StangFix. When I wake up, I gotta see what's new, when I can sneak a peak at work, I go to the StangFix. Seriously, there is so much knowledge and experience here it's crazy but they are not snobs, ego maniac's or know-it-all's. Anything is game here... they have funny stories, great sense of humor and genuine concern for each other. It's like no place else, really!

I'm still trying to think of something on my car that would be considered stock, I'll have to get back to you on that.
