another ? can 68 front hubs/spindles/drum bolt straight onto a 65 coupe reason asking is i have a set of complete front hubs/drum brake assy/spindles 5 stud off a 68 want to cover a 65 6 cyl car to a 5 stud hubs

I've never put drums back on anything (I just pitch them) but I think the spindle for the 4 and 5 lug is the same as far as the drum is concerned but I don't know that for 100% sure.

The 6 cyl and V8 spindles are different. The A arms etc are the same but the idler and drag links are different..

The other consideration is that the 68 spindles have a different geometry than the 65-66. They are much more like the Granada geometry.

You can use the spindle but the steering arm in the spindle is shorter and lower. I had probably 67 spindles and brakes and I swapped 65-66 spindles as the steering arm hit the TCP rack and pinion at full lock to right. Otherwise it may not a big issue as 67- spindle turns wheels slightly faster and bump steer geometry is not correct anyway.

so let get this right, i can bolt on 67/8 front hubs to a 65 6 cyl mustang as long as i change the idler arm/centre link/track rod end etc to the v8 one instead of the original 6cyl one in car.
