Another Starter Issue?

janschutz

Corn Hauler
I stopped at a store on the way to work this morning and when I got back in my car, the started dragged and would not turn over the engine. A jump got me going. When I got to work, the started did the same thine. Now 2 hours later, it will turn over and start the engine just fine.

Does this sound like a starter going bad?

Sounds like engine heat could be effecting either the starter or the battery. Either going bad could given the same indications you are having.

Battery is in the trunk. So I would guess starter. I have headers but they are ceramic coated. I had heard that heat from them can kill a starter. Also the starter is only 4 years old.

I've never had a problem with my H-T starter using headers.

I had trouble with my standard starter 2 yrs ago and switched to high torque. I have been trouble free since. Oh and I do have headers.
