HI, ok i picked up a pair of 295 50 BFG T/As with slots for a steal on ebay, they are 10'' wide rims but the backspacing was off, stuck out like 2-3inches i was told a 295 would fit on an 8'' rim i ''think'' american racing bought out ansen they sell aluminum slot mags 15x8 with a 4 1/2'' backspacing do you think they would be a proper fit under my stock 1968?.. sorry but ,,gotta have my mag slots just watch the new starsky n hutch, gives me goosebumps!! any help would be appreciated, thanks, chance.

Thats a lot of tire for an 8" rim, I have 275's on 9.5 rims. I would see if the damn thing would even fit in the wheel well before you start looking for rims.

Yeah figures a guy with a chevelle gave me the great advice, :sur im at the stage now that if i wanna mini tub i gotta do it now, everything is stripped and i wanna run the leafs. guess if i had to i could put flares on it, does anyone know how wide the eleanor flares are?

The Eleanor flares don't add much, maybe a 1/4"... and unless you cut out the original lip it doesn't gain you anything.
do you know the section width of the 295/50's?
I'm running a 275/40/17, the section width of the tire is 10.8" and tread width 10" on a measuring rim width of 9.5" and they fit with out mini-tub

HEY tarafied!, its a 12'' section width, but i couldnt tell ya the backspacing on the rim im in St. louey still,

hmmm... I don't think 12" will fit, I think mine are really about the limit. Looks like your gonna be cutting and welding! A mini-tub will gain about 2" so it will still be tight but should fit a 12" wide tire.
