I got a line on some 70 high backs. I was thinking of getting custom parchment w black stripe Mach 1 covers for them to match my interior....Anybody think this would be cheesy? slick? Would I gain any comfort over my 67 seats with the TMI bolsters?

Thanks.

The '70 style seats are a big improvement in comfort over the stock '67 seats. If you're getting a good deal on them... and the upholstery will match the interior of the car... I don't think anyone would find fault in your decision to use them.

Hi Kyle! Actually, I'm not sure what year these stang seats are from, but they're high back, and pretty comfortable. I have some low back and may eventually cover them to have another set of seats to swap if I'd ever feel like it.

Those look like "70" style seats but I don't think the upholstery is Mustang, it may be Cougar?

I've got Mach I seats in my '67 and I love them. They match the interior very well and they're loads more comfortable than the factory seats.

Can you get me a pic? I am thinking of ordering parchment mach 1s with a black stripe since my dash, steering wheel and carpet is black.

You can get custom upholstery from NPD and some other places that is meant for high back seats but is made to match your existing interior. Mach1 seats would look pretty badarse and I bet they would fit in pretty well too. Decisions, decisions! :lol

Laurie has done the high back seats to Trouble, and it looks pretty sharp, with custom upholstery too. I don't have her website, but I'm sure someone...Mid?...will furnish it.

I would gladly forgo the Mach1 covers to have 67 style covers that would match my backseats. If NPD sells that, I will check into it.

While it will cost more, you can contact NPD's supplier... TMI... directly and speak to someone in their ordering department. They will cut/make a "special order" set of seat covers that will match the '70 high-back seats to your '67 interior. It usually takes 4-6 weeks to process the special order and additional costs are under $200.

Too bad you don't live closer to me. I am thinking about selling my seats from my 70.
Shipping would probably be too high.

Most any high back seat will be better than the stock units. I use the '04 style GT seats for the wifes comfort in particular. I had the Corbeau Sport in it when I got it and my wife had problems with the bolsters and her medical problems. They were comfortable but she had hard time getting in and out of with her knee and back problems. Selling those and and will use the '04 rear to match the interior. I would say go for it.

I would like to go to a newer style seat with more support. I drive the car a lot.
