anyone own/owned a 350z?

thinking about getting one for a daily driver/weekend toy. drove one last sunday & it was a perfect fit. very comfortable to me vs the few 05-up mustangs I've driven. just not a good feel to me in those. we've been very happy with the 3.5 v6 in the mrs' Altima. 8.5 yrs & not any problems at all. with a 6 speed behind it in the z, it was a really fun car to drive. just curious if anyone else has or has owned one.

I haven't owned one but know friends that own. They all love them. Only complaint I've ever heard was the blind spots.

Re: anyone own/owned a 350z?

I have not owned the z, but my current DD is a g35. They have the same drivetrain and platform.

It's a great engine, lots of power, really fun to drive. Be sure to check out the front suspension as the compression rods are a trouble area and run about $400 a piece. Kind of a common problem up front.

Also 06 engines were the rev up engine and some have a massive oil consumption issue. They supposedly fixed it for 07 and up was slightly different engine with more power and torque.

Other than that I'd say get it.

Rode along with my daughter when she test drove a couple of zs about 2 years ago. She really liked them but realized she could get a new Mustang v6 for about the same money as a used z, so she got the 2012 Mustang.

I hear they have special parking spots

Never driven one but the seats sure look comfy.

Got to ride in one a couple years ago when I was instructing at Heartland Park. The car was pretty impressive.

I have one of those here that's "Miata" sized... :ns

seats are a nice fit. drove a 08 roadster last weekend at the dealer. I didn't hammer it too hard, but had really good power, braking & handled well in stock form.

Glad I have a reserved spot, I need to use it more when work slows down. Are you going to Franklin tomorrow for the MustangSteve cruise in? What time does it end? I have to judge at our show but it should end at 3p, I'll haul over if ya'll are still there or going somewhere after the meet & greet?

no, with all of the b.s. going on lately, I had completely forgot about the show. I get the joy of completely packing up my house this weekend. they are finally going to replace this bad carpet after 6 yrs. that will be my weekend, then steph's mom has surgery mon, carpet gets replaced tues...

Sorry to hear about Steph's mom, ya'll are at the hospital more than I am, and I work there!
Hang in there pal.

sold off another 10K worth of stuff today ( even the kids are worried, why is dad selling off all of his s**t??), so seriously thinking about going to look at this one if I can find the time. its over towards Knoxville & since we are in charge of taking care of the m.i.l. after her surgery, we'll have to find a babysitter so we can go look at it.

Looks nice.
Are u set on a z? Or have u looked at anything else. The g35/37 coupe from infinti is essentially the same car but a little more plush. Uses the 3.5 Nissan engine and You can get it with a 6 speed too.

Wow, that looks super clean, I'd believe they kept that in the garage. The replacement rims look almost identical to the stockers only black, I would have just plasti-dipped the stockers.
I'd bet the same thing in Infinity would have a premium price difference also for leather vs. cloth seats, etc. besides the badging.

Always liked the g35-37, but seems most of those for sale have alot of miles on them or are in the same price range as the 370z's. maybe being a 4 seater, they were purchased more as daily drivers vs a 2 seat weekend toy.

Ive always heard good things about them. The Japanese guy here at work talks about them constantly and is just waiting to jump on one.

always garage kept, only been caught out in the rain a few times, even parked inside at work. the replacement wheels are 19x9 & 19x10 so much larger than the stock 18's. besides those, springs & stereo, its all bone stock. comes with all the original parts too, even the wheels. just gotta figure out how to get over to knox during the week to look it over & buy if its as nice as it looks.

I was just mentioning the G because you said you were maybe going to use it as a daily driver and they have a backseat and bigger trunk. Wasn't sure what your price range was. The z is probably a lot more fun to drive though.

gotta remember, with me, a daily driver means it "might" leave the driveway at the most two-three times a week. i'm usually alone then so no real need for a back seat. the mrs best friend has a g-37 coupe, really nice but automatic. the damn backup camera makes me feel drunk too :beer dont think I could ever get used to one of those...

anyone notice the red g-35 pictured above on the dealer ad has WHITEWALLS on it??? :hmm
