Anyone with a Samsung Delve or equal, I have a question.

I set my phone up to retrieve and send email to my new work account. It retrieves fine, but will not send any email. I'm having trouble getting a hold of the local tech peeps, so I thought I'd throw it out here. I'm guessing I may need a diff outgoing port number (it's 25), but no idea what might work. What I've used in the past with a diff provider no longer works.

I know there are many variables, just feeling for ideas.

I have a samsung(cant remember what one) but I cant call out sometimes and I have to turn off the phone and turn it back on to make a call.

I think you're turning into a tech weenie. Sorry.

and to think I was sooo nice as to set you up for some smackdown practice......fer shame.

yeah, i'd bet it has to do with the port settings for your email server. Could also be security settings, I've had some real screwball ones before that were holy hell to get working with a phone...matter of fact, most of our profs redirect their school email through gmail so they can get to it on their phones, since the school email server is such a PITA.

It also could be server name. Some folks use the same server name for ingoing and outgoing email, some will name one "mail.whatevergaycrap.com" and the other "smtp.whatevergaycrap.com"

Do you have email sending and retrieving working fine on your home computer? If so what program are you using? We can probably go through the setup screens on it to get your delve working.

I know nothing about delves, but I know mail servers(at a basic level...don't ask me to write one from scratch)

If you want we can get on the phone and I can help walk you through setup. Just let me know what email program you're using first so I can research how to mine it for settings.
