AOD Lokar TV cable and carb spring bracket Q's

Hey all, trying to make some progress. Started running the Lokar AOD TV cable I have last night:

and the carb spring bracket to see what needs to be done:

Apparently the AOD cable is cut to fit as this thing is 6' long and I only need 3' it appears (looped around VC in pics below). Whats the best way to cut SS sheathing? wrap with tape and cut with sharp hacksaw?

Next up is the carb bracket does not look like it is going to be useful at all. Since I'm using the stock throttle setup, fabbed a rod and will not be using lokar's throttle cable this thing is in the way of the throttle rod. I see I could bend some 45* bends into a longer rod but then I'd question the chance the rod will flex/bend at some point. I will probably put a 45 at the firewall end just to line up straight with the carb. linkage but don't see 2 sets (basically a bow in the rod) to get around the lokar bracket.

My thoughts are to just fab my own 90* bracket coming off the 2 intake mount points I have instead of the carb base. It really only needs 2 holes, one to secure the TV end and one to hook the return springs to. Thoughts?

I can get some better pics with daylight as I noticed the flash made everything shiny, I can also get a top down showing the 2 intake mounts I plan to use on the Stealth.

Are you sure you only need 3' of it? Down at the AOD, is the cable leaving the transmission heading rearward then loop upward and then forward towards the carb like the following pic of my daughter's car set up?

I made my own intake manny bracket. Can't find a pic so I might need to take one.

I don't think a hacksaw is a good idea. I thought taping and using a cutoff wheel would work well, It cut clean, but then it also heats the end of the braided strands and causes it give a flared shape which can be a little tough to tuck into the fitting. One of the better ways is a place a sharp chisel on your cut line and give it a good wack with a hammer. You've got plenty of length to experiment with, so try a few different ways to see what works best for you.

Thanks Craig and Stangg. You're right Craig, I hadn't secured it to the trans pan yet and thought it would face forward but my selector points up as it should so the cable heads rearward first. Now I only have 6" -12" extra. I may just make a bigger loop to take up the extra to avoid the hassel of cutting.

Thanks for taking a fresh pic of your manifold bracket, that gives me ideas even though I don't weld yet I know where it'll need to land and the option of multiple holes for lining it up.
Thanks guys,
Jon
