Back Out... Lots of pictures

I had to pull the motor back out of the Mustang. The clutch wouldn't disengage and I also need to have the engine repainted. Pulling out the engine tonight I enlisted the help of a buddy who works at a trans shop and he brought a buddy who works at a different trans shop. Motor and trans came out/apart quick. Once the pulled apart the motor and the trans they were both stumped. They said everything looked to be assembled correctly and that they couldn't say why the clutch wasn't disengaging. So that leaves me with either buying all new clutch parts and hoping that fixes the issue or I can consider other options. Other options include:

1. New transmission. Going from a t-10 to a toploader or a 5/6 speed.
2. New Motor/transmission as a unit

Right now I have a 351c and it seems to be a good used motor but if I could get something else in there with more power/efficiency I would be option to what I should consider.

As you can see from the pictures its gone through a lot lately. I had one guy primer and body work the car and then I had to strip all of his work because I didn't feel he did the metal work prior to starting the body work. I had to take it to another guy who did the metal work. He corrected the lower door patches, new battery tray piece of engine bay, new quarter panels, new fab'ed C pillars, A pillar patches, Antenna hole filled, New drivers side floor pan and some other minor patch work. I am having another guy strip the engine bay and undercarriage to paint before it goes back to the metal fab guy for some finishing touches and paint and body work. So I need to seriously decide what I am going to do with the engine/trans as I can have the guy do fab work if need be.

Next time, just send your car to me. I'd have it done over the weekend :sarc

Seriously, Lots of good looking body work being done there. Regarding a gearbox, I'd almost consider a TKO 6 speeder only if it provided a gear somewhere between my 4th (1.00) and my current 5th (.63). But I also hear that there is a lot more tunnel modification requirements, which might be why I went with a T5z.

If you go top loafer, realize that you'll be spinning 3400 rpm at 70mph.

My T5 needs another gear between 4 and 5 too. But my TKO works well. I think it may have something to do with rear gear ratios. My T5 car has 3:00 stock gears, my TKO car has 3:53 trak lok gears.

Maybe this matters a bunch or maybe not at all, I am not sure.

Just an observation.

Thanks guys. The drip rails were rusted in some parts and it was cheaper to just shave them. I love the body line that popped up once we shaved them. Now I need to decide on a wiring kit, what trans to use, and some last minute decisions on paint as the car is with the body guy. Getting excited to see it in color.
