Bad day - long - (Updated)

Going to work this morning in my dark blue 68 coupe, I smelled electrical smoke and the engine then cut out. I could not get it to restart so I had it towed home. Had to put in my cluster back into my diamond blue coupe before I got it home. I noticed several gauges did not work. I just assumed in my haste, I did not get all the connector together all the way.

At work I figured out I forgot my cell at home so I called my wife to not call it but use my office line.

Later, after lunch, I get a call from her saying that someone has hit her in a parking lot and is yelling at her. Told her to call 911 and I am on my way. A mile from my office I run out of gas (remember the gauges were not working to warn me). When I finally get there, the police tell me they had her transported to the hospital. She was just shook up real bad and sore.

My wife was pulling out of a space and did not see him coming. Witness to the police that he was traveling at a high rate of speed and floated a stop sign.

Jule was only about 100 feet from the stop sign and he hit her hard enough to spin her car 90 degrees and buckle both sides of the Honda Hybrid. (Damn, just spent $4000 on new batteries 9 months ago).

I know that usually it is the persons fault that is pulling out of a space and he says it is her fault but with the witnesses...? I hope the my insurance does not cave to his insurance.

Two cars down in 6 hours. :dun At least I still have one that works.

PS. I did get it the Diamond Blue Coupe filled up.

Re: Bad day - long

A problem that could have been solved for less than a quarter!-(just kidding, I spent several hundred on a cat once also)

Re: Bad day - long

Hope it all works out--rough day indeed---could have been worse though---stay positive.

Re: Bad day - long

Damn. I hope she's ok. At least the Honda is still drivable until it gets fixed. Sucky day....

Re: Bad day - long

Julie is sore today but thinks she is OK. Allot of the warning lights in the Honda are now on (like the hybrid battery). I do not trust it to be Driven until it is looked at.

Tonight I need to figure out the problem with the Dark Blue coupe, I need it for a road trip this weekend.

Re: Bad day - long

I'm just happy she was driving the Honda (and not hurt!). We've already had one Fix classic take a hit this week.

Finally got the call from the insurance, total lost. At least I got more for it than I paid for it 2 years ago.

Julie is saying she wants a old an old truck. She says it needs to have some class, AC and Power Steering. She wants to look "Cute" while driving it. It also needs to be a driver, not a show truck.
