Bad news :(

Need prayers and good thoughts. Yesterday was my car clubs spring picnic (which was awesome and I got some pictures and videos)... one of our members was seriously injured when he got home.

Buppy (of Buppys Catering in Bryan TX - if ya'll never had his food you are missing out!) was injured when his car trailer fell on top of him. He was taken to the hospital where initial diagnosis he was found to have massive internal injuries including; damaged pancreas, kidney and right colon, severely bruised lungs and compression injuries to his rib cage. The latest update from his wife said that on a good note, he had neuro response, understood the nurse and could follow directions.. but he's still bleeding internally and his lungs are filling with fluid.

Buppy is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. He's a very generous, caring, funny man. Why do the bad things always happen to the best people. :( He was recently married as well, Dec 31... I know his wife must be going bonkers. I hope she's doing ok. It's just weird. We were all at the picnic, and the day seemed like a perfect day. Almost. Buppy had brought an extra helmet and was going to take me for a ride down the track since I've never been, but his car broke (a fan I believe). We had another members car break too. Other than that, the picnic was great. Hard to believe something bad can happen after such a good day.

There was talk last night/early this morning about setting up a blood drive so I'll be donating if I can. Keep Bup and his wife and family in your thoughts.

Just got off the phone with another club member to get more info. Last night he under went surgery and they removed his right colon. He's about to go back into surgery to possibly remove a damaged kidney. His lungs are filling with fluid and they might be doing dialysis to pull the fluid out.

Certainly will keep him in prayer

But I am honestly curious how you drop a car trailer on yourself? Was it on a hill or something?

Sad to hear Kat, any gear head is family to us. Will keep him and his family in our prayers.

Usually when the lungs are filling with fluid we insert a catheter through the patients back into the lungs to drain the fluid. They might be looking at doing dialysis due to the kidney damage. He has got a long road ahead of him but we hope he pulls through.

Maybe a driveway with a serious pitch.

It was a trailer he borrowed. From what I understood it's some kind of tilting kind? where you suppose to set the brake and remove a series of pins and when you unload the car, the trailer will tilt. Something like that. :shrug He was under the trailer with some WD40 and one of the pins came out and trailer fell.

Damn that sucks. It sounds like he's in good hands now.
