Band Style Exhaust Clamps

Have folks here had good luck using butt style band style exhaust clamps on thier cars??? I was considering running them between my JBA H-Pipe and mid pipes to allow for removal of the H-Pipe. I also plan to use them on the muffler to mid-pipe connections (slip joint style)... has anybody had luck taking apart the exhaust later if needed???

I've been using the walker brand slip joint band clamps on both sides of the mufflers. Very easy remove the exhaust with these. The only thing you need to be careful of is the little tar strip they provide. It can be a little troublesome to remove and replace keeping the tar strip intact, but not a huge concern. I like them a lot. I've never used the butt joint ones. My preference would be to use the slip joint style if possible. Most muffler shops will expand a couple of pipes for next to nothing.

I too have used the band clamps before, and they work pretty well. I still have them where the mufflers and tail pipes connect. I opted for some ball socket connections in front of the mufflers.

I had to modify my JBA H pipe to clear the transmission crossmember. I have the 1650SJS headers. Basically the down pipes are still there, but the H section has been remade.
