I just wanted to give a thumbs up for a vendor I just used.
Battery Tek: http://www.battery-tek.com/
Since the performance of my Dewalt 18v batteries had crapped out, I sent the 2 batteries to Battery Tek (also goes by Battery Doctor) to be reconditioned.
Here's a quote from their site:
"Send your battery pack to us and we will replace your old batteries with new, high performing, factory fresh, balanced cells of a higher capacity than the original factory issue. Again. . . .we put new cells in your dead battery pack making it better then new."
The service took about a week to mail, replace and return in the mail (shipping would take a little longer for places not on the west coast).
Anyway, I have used my rebuilt batteries a lot over the last couple of days, and I've only recharged one of two. If you have poor performing cordless tools, I recommend you send in your old batteries instead of buying new ones.
