There's lots of "off the shelf grinds" that will give you the performance your looking for at a reasonable price. In my opinion, custom ground cams are an unnecessary expense for any build using a 302 production block. When your build exceeds 550 HP with an aftermarket block, heads and intake with extensive porting and a custom built carb or efi set up, then I can see dropping $400+ on a billet cam. I know this an old thread but I figured others may have this same question.
