Getting ready to finish up a gear swap and rear-end rebuild. What lube do you guys like to use?? :shrug

At least tell us what type of rear end you are using. Posi? Peg leg? Are we talking a Mustang?

:shrug KY :beer

Seriously though KY sensations isn't bad either. :eek:mg :bowdown

No really serious now. IIRC I used 90W gear oil.

I thought you guys would like this one. Maybe we can all learn a thing or two??

It will be a 5.0 with AOD, 3.55 open gears for some cruising is all. I figured the nasty crap that I pulled out was in the car for 40+ years. Maybe I should get something good :)

Kevin is our resident "rear end" guy, maybe he'll chime in on the proper lube to use.

Me, I run Redline Shockproof in my 9" rear axle.

I don't see why some 85-90 wouldn't work?

Are they new bearings?

If so, I would break the rear end in with it in the air and the car in gear to get lube worked up into everything before you go pounce on it.

I'm not gonna comment for Kevin... he's the "real" pro when it comes to rear ends.

For my rear differential lubrication, I also use Redline Shockproof in my 9". Many, if not most, of the track guys I use to run with in CA use Redline.
