Did I mention we have another child on the way?? My oldest is 15 and will turn 16 in December and my second will turn 12 in June. We are having a boy and plan to name him Jonah Paul when he arrives in early October. Feels like I started all over. Our 18th anniversary is in October, so I guess she’s got me for another 18 now.

My kids are spaced out by about 8 years each all in the same marriage. The large gaps, while not planned, made for us being different parents with each as we were in different places in our lives. And his relationships with his sibs will be unique too. It's all good. I'm sure you'll see what I mean as Jonah grows up. Congratulations!

Thanks guys. We were in shock for quite a while being in a down hill slide position with our other 2. I was looking at retirement at 55 ish but won’t have this one through high school until I’m 56 and college at 60... oh well.

I told Amanda that this will be one cool kid because of where we are in life. We love to hike, ride 4 wheelers/ side by sides, boat, Jeep ride, and other outdoorsy activities. When our other 2 were growing up we were more busy working trying to get toys.

I am dreading the diapers and waking up in the middle of the night. But I think it will be an adventure. I plan to take a month off with Amanda who is taking 3 months once he gets here.

Congrats!

We had our daughter a bit later in life, but it has it's plus side like your said. We had more income, boat and more ability to do things like travel with her. But she's also our only child.

I'll be 54 when she graduates from high school. I've got 9 more years.

Congrats. I am done. We had one and she is 25. No interest in being a grandparent. When they send me off to the assisted living facility she can then visit with a rug rat. I will simply ask "who are you?" That is how I see my future.

Congrats, 2 in college 20 months apart. I would have liked to stretch them out and have more like you, but health and the Mrs said otherwise

Congrats . Mine will be 20 and 23 next week . Both at home and working.
Maybe it's time for the snip and clip to make sure there are no more surprises.
Enjoy the next 18 plus years again .

Congratulations!
I have two boys that will be in high school next year. One starting and another ending. Now in a relationship with a fine woman with an 11 year old girl.....Not familiar with that territory for sure.

Wow that’s exciting. We had four, each at roughly 18 months apart. Everything was a blur. Diapers, grammar school, high school, now 2 in college. Now they’re all between 21 and 16.
Like some of the other posters, I’d be a very different parent (for better or worse) if I had another one right now. I’m not that 32 year old looking for the owners manual for these creatures. I know I’d try to be home more for some of the bigger things. Cat and the cradle and the silver spoon song etc.

All this talk of new babies has got me thinking...

about how great it is to be past all that. Grand kids can scratch that itch just fine. They go home after a visit. :)

It's got me thinking it's time for the doctor visit for the ol snip snip!

Good looking kids, Bill. You can tell your daughter loves her baby brother.

You know, in some parts of the south that would be a whole different "family" pic!
