Birthday gift... new ride.

Thanks again for all the birthday cheers, y'all.

To add to those cheers, I gave myself a little birthday gift... the tow vehicle I've always wanted! I had an old rusty F250 that i was planning to restore, but after working on the Mustang over the last few years, I wasn't up to another massive project. So I sold the 67 F250, and I just bought a 71 F100 Ranger XLT, which matches my 67 Mustang's generation (67-72 Ford truck bodies are all the same).

It's fully loaded for a truck of that year (excluding a big block).
XLT exterior & interior trim packages
v8 302
PS, PB, AC

The truck shows only 60,000 original miles, and from the looks of everything, I believe it. It's been freshly repainted (Feb 2009). It does need some detailing/painting under the hood, but there are no leaks or rust.

Now, what you're waiting for... pics.

I think this truck will compliment my Mustang nicely.

Very Nice and Happy Birthday :pep

I find buying your own presents is definitely the way to go.

My Dad had a '72 F100 Sport Custom.......they are nice trucks. You can set up house under the hood and still have everything else in there. That looks good.

eh.....not bad if you like Fjord trucks.....

Just playing Michael, way to do some self celebrating. Maybe we'll see it this weekend?

Nice! I had a 69 with factory AC and a 360. Was a great truck! I still see it on the road every now and then in Brawley when I visit.

Should do a great job for ya!

Nope. It's shipping from KY to CA. Probably won't see it til January.

Is this now your DD?

No. I'm keeping my Tacoma 4x4... at least for now. I need something for Tahoe ski weekends!

Those things have huge front bearing hubs, so the TTs don't fit!

When you get it you should swap the front drums for discs. Unless it is already so equipped. I had loads of problems finding wheels for my 69 F100. It was a cool truck and ran on LPG. I had an 80 Gal LPG tank in the bed.

Have fun!
