Board consolidation.

Not sure how everyone feels about this but I made the decision to consolidate some of the boards and to just whack some others.

Going away: but posts will be moved to whichever board seems most appropriate.
What would sanborn do
newb tuorials
tutorials
tag orders
contests


Then:
Combine tools and tech
combine 94 and up late models
combine engine and drivetrain, exhaust, heating and cooling and wheel and tire into one board.

As always, I'd like to hear member's thoughts.

This is an effort to streamline the board to make it faster and more enjoyable. The new server is much faster. I assume that's partly due to a fresh install, some tweaks that have been made, 9749 less attachments and a better host. The site has not been throttled once since the move.
 
Sounds good to me! The site seems to be blazing fast now.

It should help posts for help that get lost because some boards don't get checked as often.
Sometimes it takes awhile to find a thread again because its not in the unread posts.
 
So far I haven't had to use a pass word to log in, I just type in 67 and that's it. Also my avatar is still present and he still ain't out ran them tanks, but he's still trying. The forum moves now and it will be more enjoyable.
 
every time I log in I just use the "show unread posts since last visit" link so it really doesn't matter which board the threads are in. Faster is always better.
 
You do whatever makes things easier for you and keeps the board running smooth. Another weekend without the 'fix' and I might be divorced :)

I can't say for sure if this is good news or not but any changes I make from here on can be done on the fly. You my even be lucky enough to see the magic happen right before your eyes.

I would move the non Mustang board down below the "Tools tips and classified" board.

I would/did move them in order of popularity for the most part.

Non mustang general discussion (formerly Gum Flappers) is by far the most popular. The changes are aimed at trimming some of the fat with the hope that the quiet ones will post a little more often.

I did not know that. I may have misinterpreted his intent in that case......... My response may have been a bit inappropriate.
