I have Bullitt brakes on all four corners. I adapted factory Cobra hoses, too. Up front, that worked well. But, out back it didn't turn out as slick.
I have been looking at the kit Shaun sells for this, but I have a coupla questions/concerns.
Here's what the front bracket looks like:
Notice that it has a hexagonal hole in it. This is so that a wrench is not required on the hose side to secure or remove the fitting. The Cobra hoses also have hexagonal heads on them, but the hexes are a little larger and I had to open mine up a little to make them fit. When I was done, the Cobra hoses fit the brackets like a glove.
Out back, the bracket welded to the floor is also hex (I think). The stock hose back there goes in only one way due to the shape of the hole.
Now Shaun's kits have round ends with an extra hex you can put a wrench on. They are retained by the factory clips. I'm just confused about how this works when the bracket has a hex hole and you're installing a round fitting. Shaun says he's done it many times without a problem and never noticed the hex holes. I'm wondering if the diameter of his fittings is smaller than the hex hole which is why they work. Does his fitting just fit into the hex?
The typical brake hose brackets he sells (as do many others) are either clamp-on or weld-on and have a simple round hole that presumably matches his fittings perfectly. But, again, the factory brackets do not have round holes.
What's the deal? Do the round fittings just happen to fit nicely inside the hexes?
