Busy on the front end this weekend

cmayna

DILLIGARA?
Donator
Spent the weekend:
Installing front turn signal lamps,
Finishing front end wiring,
Installing the 67 grill (cleaner than a messy 68 grill when you don't plan to run the horse or corral),
Installing new bumper to fender brackets,
Installing misc rubber plugs into the various front frame rail and engine bay holes,

don't remember what else I did.

Yes I am missing the center cap for the grill opening panels. Need to place yet another NPD order today.

Has it moved under its own power yet? Like just outside the garage and back in again?

You're almost done...can't you see the finish line just up ahead?

Installing new bumper to fender brackets,

Did you have any problem tightening the nut on the carriage bolt in the bumper? I was able to get to the driver side with a universal socket and managed to not touch the paint, but didn't have as much clearance on the passenger side, so rather than risk it, passenger side is only finger tight until I figure out a better way to get in there. Am thinking those brackets should have been installed in the bumper before it went on.

Hmm. Common problem. Mine is already ordered, should be here any day now.

Looks great!

How are all the repro parts fitting?

The trim along the front of the hood as well as around the grill opening sucks!! Repro Crapo :po

Sam, Installing those brackets after the bumper is installed is a real PITA. What helped was to toss out the star washer supplied with the bolts and use a larger lock washer. It allowed the nut to secure down easier. I spent probably a good 3+ hours just doing these freakin brackets.

Thats funny, I was missing my grille center piece as well, I ended up using the original, in case the VIN police showed up it counted as original equipment.... It was actually Sluggo's idea to reuse the old one rather than buy a new one. You can hardly tell, but I know!
