caliper?

I know lots of people powder coat calipers, but is there anything wrong with painting them? Does the powder coat hold up better when brake fluid gets spilled? Is there any other reason?

unless its synthetic dot-5 fluid, it will eat up powdercoat just like paint. i painted mine, started out with a good cleaning/degreasing then a good coat of epoxy primer before the red base then clearcoat.

Painted my brake calipers with caliper paint from Foliatec. Looks good, easy to bring on and some really heavy heat cycles did nothing to the paint.

Perfect!

The more i look, it seems that most paint them red. Whats the deal with that? I assume its because its the popular Brembo / Baer colors?

I chose to paint mine POR15 Manifold Grey.

I also painted my rear brake drums the same color and they look like I just painted them even though they have 20k+ miles.
