Camel Tire Tube Patches

janschutz

Corn Hauler
Found this in a box of stuff from my Grand Dad. Just thought it was interesting. Still has some of the patches in the box.

I used them back in the day but recall the box color being tan, a taller box, like a cigarette case (!) that had glue and a small metal scuff-up strip.

Crap....used to use those......I feel old now.
Pretty sure I have too... those are the ones you light the backside on and melt the patch to the tube, right?

Of course, I was VERY young when I used them.... :p

I'm with Pete. I always had those around the house to fix the bike tires. I was rather hard on them.

So, when patching a tire you had to be make sure to grab the correct case or you could end up smoking one of those and trying to patch a tire with a cigarette....

Yeah, seems like that's what I remember too. I can still smell that glue.
