Can I make an edelbrock 1407 into a 1405

I got a brand new edelbrock 1407 for $100 from a guy at work. I knew it was more carb then I needed but figured I could trade or sell it for another 1405. So I got to thinking. Can I swap part from my broken 1405 into the 1407 and make it a 1405?

I had broke my 1405's idle mixture off inside the carb and mucked it all up trying to use a punch to knock it back out.

I am not a carburetor expert but I'm going to say yes you can. It looks like the only difference between the two are the primary and secondary jet sizes and the metering rods. 1407 has primary jets:.113, secondary jets:.107, metering rods:.071x.047. The 1405 has: .100, .095, .070x.047, they both use the orange step up spring. That's all I know, not sure if there is any internal difference but I'm thinking NO internal difference.

No, you can't. Edelbrock uses one-piece castings, which means there's no way to swap anything between the carbs. The difference between the two, in addition to the jets and rods, is the venturi bore size. Since the casting is one solid chunk, you can't swap anything.
