Can you explain this?

Alright so tonight my daughter told me about a strange phenomena that is happening due to the alignment of the planets. I thought yeah what a bunch of s*^t. Anyway she said "dad, dad, come and look at this. So I rose from the recliner and went into the kitchen and this is what I saw. There are no strings or tricks and the broom is standing on its own. She also said its all over "Facebook". You make the call, BS or is something really happening.

According to NASA, there is no planetary alignment this year. I would listen to people who actually study astronomy than a goober on Facebook.

Actually, Jupiter, Venus, the Moon and Mercury almost lined up on 2/24 , looking at the Western horizon right after sunset.

All a matter of perception.

Based upon the shadow of the broom handle next to the microwave, I believe the broom is leaning against the counter.

Nope, those are 18" tiles. Here is my girl standing behind it.

You missing a tube of super glue????

Maybe somebody left the motor running on their ride........

"Maybe somebody left the motor running on their ride........" I don't know man but after reading about it this morning I thought I'd give it a try. It was like once I had it pointing a certain direction it homed in and stabilized. The handle is made of steel. Hey Pete, look at the computer screen. :shrug

Here's sometning else that's freaky. The first picture was taken about 6:30AM and it was the only direction I could get the thing to stand. So again after reading some more about it, I decided to give it a try again. So after many attempts to get it to stand there was only one direction that it would not fall. This second photo was taken around 9:00AM almost exactly 12 hours after the photo was taken last night. If you notice by the tile lines the broom has been turned about 180 degrees in 12 hours. I guess if you factor in the photo that was taken at 6:30AM there maay very well be something to this. I really don't know.

The only mystery I want you to explain is why the only shadow being cast in your pictures is that of the broom.

Not so....in the first photo look at the shadow of the counter top (right of fridge) and the last photo shows countertop shadow on the door.

Where are the shadows of all the table and chair legs? Maybe it's just perspective but I don't see what should be similar coming off of them.

This has been around a while. I did it one time at work by standing the broom in the middle of our retail area. Nothing touching it. People would walk by it and do a double take. It was pretty funny.

OK. Had to try it. Worked in two different rooms. Couldn't get it to stand on the tile in the laundry room but it liked the wood floors. Smooth, level surface being the key. Depending on how I stood it up and the bristles collapsed, etc. it would do better leaning one way or another. No magic but I'm sure it will freak the kids and wife out later when they come home.

I think the shadows are from the flash. There's no trickery here period. All I can tell you is the broom had to be at a certain orientation or it would not stand up. And the orientation changes are in direct relationship to the time of day. I dunno, but it is weird. :wth In the 4th photo I let the broom stand. It stood for about 20 minutes then fell, to the left. Also if it was the 3 angle effect, would my daughter not be leaning as well?

Personally I think it's some planetary rings around Uranus that's causing this to happen.

I have you know my planetary gears are in proper order. They do however make funny sounds every now and then, but are completely free from any rings, occlusions, roids, or any other foreign or extraterrestial substancesses. :bowdown
