I have an Edelbrock Performer RPM on the way. I had a carb spacer for the original cast iron intake. Just wondering if the aluminum intake also requires a carb spacer?

Strongly recommended.
You may also consider blocking off the exhaust crossover on the intake depending on how cold it gets where you are. It's good for preheating a heavy cast iron intake, but aluminum generally doesn't need the help. I blocked mine, but I also live in central CA where it rarely gets down to freezing.
