Celebrated Murphy's Birthday Today in Mustang, Oklahoma

I'm at the Oklahoma National Show this weekend with my 1968 coupe. The scheduled build date of my car is June 6, 1968 (although it actually was built on June 3rd). But, my mother and I picked up the car on June 6th and so I've always considered that it is the car's "birthday."

Today is June 6th, and I received another win toward Murphy's Conservator trophy. How cool to look at the engraved plate for this show and see "June 6, 2010, Mustang, Oklahoma" on it.

It was the first MCA show I have been to and I really enjoyed it. The way they sort the cars seems kinda odd, seems as if it would be easier with the cars sorted by year or modified/stock. There were definitely some exceptional cars there.

I don't know how they parked them, but several years ago it was required at MCA National show to park by class. Boy was that a PIA you would guess 10 in one class and two showed up or visa versa. Then you ended up with cars mixed up and very difficult to find to judge. In later years cars are assigned spaces as they enter and makes the car a whole lot easier to find.

The parking spots were numbered, so I assume that was how they did it. I guess I would be more comfortable parked near early model cars/people. Doubt I would have much to say to the late model guy sporting 22's on his lambo door equipped late model.

That is pretty cool. What a perfect way to celebrate.

My Stang just had it's 40th birthday on June 2nd and I forgot to celebrate. :sad

Each car is required to have a fire extinguisher when it goes through classification. Once parked, the extinguisher can be placed in or next to the car. I don't really understand putting it under the tire myself, I put mine in the trunk.

The cars were generally grouped, but also by number. So there would be a series of Modified cars in a row (which I judged), then a concours car would be there. They did keep all the Conservator cars together. One of the show requirements is that all Conservator cars have a prominent parking place, which is why we were in front of the community center.

I took some pictures, but don't have my cable with me so I can't upload them yet. I don't have too many pictures other than of my coupe because on Saturday I judged 13 cars by myself from about 12:30 to 4:50 pm. I was beat!
