Census Hiccup

Can you believe it …. They sent my Census form back!

In response to the question: "Do you have any dependants?" I replied:

"2.1 million illegal immigrants,
1.1 million crack heads,
4.4 million unemployable people,
901 thousand people in over 85 prisons
and 565 idiots in Parliament."

Apparently, this was NOT an acceptable answer.

Who did I miss ?

aborigines?? Looks like you could increase the numbers and use the same reply for our census.

Not to hijack the thread, but when we sent our census in we got a phone call several weeks later. The wife answered and when she hung up she looked pretty shaken up. When I asked her what was wrong she said the call was from the census people and they wanted to review her answers on the census. When she replied that it was simple form and no further explanations were necessary the caller stated she was required to do so under federal law. He also told her failure to do so was punishable by several thousand in fines or jail time. He also stated that she could do it over the phone then or they would send someone to my home. I told her if they call back that I'd take the call,

Sure enough, the next night another call. I heard her say, "let me put my husband on". Same line of BS. I then asked the caller, if it was a violation of federal law to please inform me which title of the USC we were violating? Little did he know, I'd already looked up the titles covering the census (yes, there are federal laws for it). He then cited the basic title number and nothing more. Yahoo....GAME ON BOY! I then proceeded to read him the FULL applicable title of the USC, including all the paragraphs, sections and subsections and advised him that we had been in full compliance by promptly completing the census in accordance with the instructions. Then I added that I was currently a law enforcement officer and had previously been a federal agent who was well versed in the USC (admittedly I never had to deal with the census title, but knew how/where to find it and then read it..which is not usually as easy at it may seem). Furthermore his actions constituted harassment which was a criminal offense in my state and should he wish to continue any further I would be filing an arrest warrant for HIM! THAT got his attention at which point I asked to speak with a supervisor. After a little chat with them, no more threatening phone calls from the census folks......and no personal visits either. Gee imagine that! LOL
