Cheap mini starters?

I definitely want to run a mini starter on my 70 Mach 1. Will have headers and AOD and the last thing I want to deal with is heat soak issues on full size starter motors. Have any of you tried these units on eBay? They run between $50-$70? Was about to pull the trigger, was wondering if any of you had tried them?

I chose to purchase a new mini for a 93 5.0 from my local auto parts store(advanced auto). Paid 155.00 and lifetime warranty. I was having heat soak problems with the oem starter but now I haven't had any troubles as of yet.

Have not installed it yet but it looks just like the ones you buy anywhere else.

I bought that DB Electric starter (auto trans version though) 4+ years ago off Ebay directly from DB, was around $75, IIRC, no problems whatsoever with the unit. Mine was a brand-new unit, not rebuilt and it looks like the price has dropped since my purchase.

Ha! I got you all beat. When I bought the '70 disk brakes that went on the '66, the VMFer that sold them to me threw in a mini starter for free.

Sorry, AzPete, the mini starter went into Scary, but the '66 DID get the brakes! LOL

Johnpro, do you still need to borrow my "how to strip a car in 10 minutes" video tonight?

:lol :lol :lol

Just kidding Pete

Actually Shag's mini starter was free being donated by Napaguy.

...........so, anybody know a cheap way to ship a car shell???????

Yes. Have the car cut up into 5" or less cubes, and throw the pieces into a set of plastic tubs. Tape the tubs together with duct tape and contact UPS.

Some assembly may be required upon receipt.
