Cleaning?

My valve covers are looking a little dirty...is there anything I can clean them with? They are just your generic chrome looking valve covers, I'll check but I think there is a picture of them in my gallery.

I gave my air cleaner a fast rub down with regular old rubbing alcohol and got off the finger grease from just handling it a few times so it looks much better.

Thought there was a picture in there....

i've used dow bathroom cleaner on chrome before. might want to make sure that it doesn't harm any other finishes nearby. i think its pretty mild on most surfaces, but might watch it near any polished aluminum etc.

if you have any small specs of surface rust, use some 0000 steel wool.

no rust...they just look like they have a haze of something on them. Might be from the radiator leak that came up right after we installed the motor. It didn't run long before we replaced the rad but it did spray everything down good one time.

Just trying to pretty things up some...taking the car to a young mans 16th bday tomorrow along with several other guys from the local car club

I like this stuff, its available at my local autozone. It did wonders on the chrome bumpers and stainless trim too.

A few years ago Gabby wanted us to buy a couple Harley's. We did, but under the agreement that she would be responsible for cleaning them. Her bike has a LOT of chrome. She swears by a chrome cleaner/polisher procuct called MAAS, but has also used the previously pictured NeverDull. I don't believe the NeverDull leaves any kind of protection though....

I'm a fan of Neverdull as well on Chrome. For aluminum the Meguirars NXT line of polish is impressive.
