CM-1 comes alive

Back in 1971ish, I built (hand brazed) 3 bicycle frames out of Reynolds 531 tubing. #2 and #3 were given to a couple friends. #1 stayed with me. It was never built as a complete bicycle until this weekend. Don't ask why but I never had the desire to finish it until now. So I have turned it into a 6speed commuter upright handlebar bike which I plan to ride to work during summer weather.

Hubs, bottom bracket, brake calipers and rear derailleur are of Italian Campagnolo (same as the wheels we see on vintage Ferrari's.)

Took it on it's maiden voyage tonight and it ran perfectly.

Sweet! Looks great. But CM-1? I think that you should call it a Craig. "Honey I'm riding my Craig to work today" :sm_TMI

Shouldn't it have a basket with a daisy on it?

And....can I have one? The bike I mean......I already have a basket.

Hey, really nice job---are you sure that after you celebrated that large number birthday last week you are not kinda working on the ole "bucket list" lol

Pete my commute is a whopping 2.3 miles. I've had so many bicycles that I was never in a need to complete this one. Last year my chromed Allegro commuter
created a crack which I deemed not easily repairable so I gave that frame away leaving me without a commuter, thus the reason to put CM-1 into action. Still need to find some nice skinny chromed fenders.

Nice work. I dig the old-school shifter on the frame. Reminds me of my ol' Schwinn Varsity.
