Rebuilding an American Icon

From CNBC
On November 10th at 9:00 pm, CNBC premiered their documentary entitled - "Rebuilding an American Icon." CNBC goes behind the scenes of Ford Motor Company to tell the inside story of our astonishing comeback, just a few short years after nearly collapsing. You'll meet CEO, Alan Mulally, who bet nearly everything the company had in his quest to steer it back from the brink. More astoundingly, how Ford rescued itself without a government bailout, unlike rivals General Motors and Chrysler.

Please be sure to share the program details with your family, friends, and co-workers. This is a story we have all helped to write, and an accomplishment we can all be very proud of!

In case you missed the broadcast last night, you can watch it online at

It is supposed to be on again tonight at 8 pm EST and Sun 14th at 10 pm EST and more later dates listed on the link.

can someone take this on a HDD so I an download it because I can't receive CNBC here in Belgium.
Looking forward to see this doc.

I applaud Ford for selling unwanted brands while there were still buyers. That's a major reason they were in better standing before this mess started 5 years ago.

This needs to move to the politics forum. Everyone knows it is impossible for Ford to survive with the evil UAW controlling their every move. :bomb

Very true. And Gary would know.

I am watching the special now. It is pretty good. The will go on despite the UAW. That is why they are going after the foreign markets...

Please explain.. What do you know about Ford and the UAW. Please enlighten us. In the last 10 years how has the UAW been evil for Ford?

They haven't. I was being sarcastic. I'm constantly hearing and reading about how it was the UAW that killed GM and Chrysler, when even Stevie Wonder could see that it was poor management that bankrupted them.

After I posted I wondered if it may have been sarcasm. Sorry about the itchy trigger finger. I have been UAW for alittle over 18 years now and I must admit that early on I couldn't believe some of the things (benifits that we got) but the last 10 years the UAW and Ford have done wonders together and we have given alot back to Ford. I hope that we can continue to work together to become the #1 in quality and in sells.
