I have a stock belt/pulley set-up, with alternator, P/S, and A/C. Intake is a C9OX with a Holley 4-v carb.
I tried putting the coil on the head, but the oil dipstick tube interferes. The base of the coil bracket needs to be about 1/2-3/4" longer to use the same bolt the dipstick tube used and not interfere. I also tried the coil on the passenger side of the intake, but it is tight, ie physically touches, the fuel rail on the passenger side of the Holley.
What are my options for mounting the coil on the engine?
I'm thinking about just cutting some flat stock sheetmetal and welding it to the coil bracket I have to extend it, and then drill a new mounting hole further out on the new tab so I can mount the coil to the head.
