Computer choices! Maybe Mac?

I haven't had any real experience with a Mac in 20 years or more. A few months back I got an iPhone and have been really happy with it.

My current pc is a toshiba lap top that has gone on the fritz. The screen goes white every couple of seconds. If u adjust ( move ) the screen you can get the picture to come back occasionally. However, most times I just have to wait it out. It gets very frustrating.

Since It looks like I'll be needing a new computer, and I've been considering a Mac. Help me decide. I'd like a real life list of pros and cons. If u have anything speak up. I really like the no need for an antivirus. But that's not a deal breaker. I know some use them here, and some hate them. Don't be shy, no matter your point of view, share it and say why. Thanks.

If the cost is not an issue then go to the dark side. :sarc

Besides I heard a news report that the new target for hackers is smart phones. :roll

delay the heavy investment for a while and purchase a 22" LED screen and attach it to your laptop - if the only thing wrong is that the display is on the fritz..... that will allow you some more time to do more research.

From the little I have read, Toshiba laptops are supposed to be very reliable and good products.

I am anti-Mac - cause Apple doesn't let you under the hood like PCs do....

I almost exclusively use my laptop connected to a separate display and keyboard. If the issue is the actual screen and not the video output itself, I'd go this route for now. Every month you delay, you get better tech cheaper, right? You can pick up a nice display for next to nothing these days.

My experience with the Mac was extensive back in my earlier days. I use to order a double decker BIG Mac with fries on a daily basis.

Not a fan of Mac stuff myself. Make sure you try one out before investing. My mother uses Mac so I've tried one and if you are used to PC, You'll want to throw the Mac out the window.

That's a good way to test the display. Thanks.
There must be a reason that Mac is Number 2 even though every computer class room had one in it in the 70's and 80's

I've used both PC and Mac. I'll stick with the PC. Macs are great once you learn them but are quite pricey up front and apple don't give nothing up for free.

You can get a pretty wicked as PC for the price of a mac.
