I want to pull a .qcp audio file off my phone to my computer and convert it into mp3 format. Can't find any conversion software...that is free.

You don't know the half of it. I went to Jackson, MS! It's as beautiful as it sounds.

On the up-side, I got to ride in the corporate plane, a King Air B200. Private Aviation is the ONLY way to fly! :)

Did that work Duane? Thanks for stepping in, Jamie. I was traveling all day yesterday and didn't get much SF time.

Yep. I was looking for a downloadable program but bookmarked the site. Can I go ahead and say, "I freakin' hate Windows Media Player"? It's been "hanging up" and I went to update it. What a POS. It's still not working correctly and I can't delete it. Close everything, reboot, delete media player and it throws a box up on my screen that says I can't delete the file because it's in use. WTH?!?!?!?!?!?

Boot into safe mode (keep hitting F8 after your computer reboots until you get the Menu Page that allows you to choose how to boot)

Yea, Jackson sucks. It's about a 3 hr drive straight south for me.

As for the wm problem, I second the safe mode, uninstall route. Wm sucks out loud, and the only version that I've used that worked right was 8 I think. I use vlc player instead. It plays much more stuff than wm.

Another good option I use is KM Player. It has been bug free, and uses very littel resources. Plays everything I've thrown at it.

Your best bet is always to try "Uninstall" rather than delete...but failing that, you can then fall back to delete. You should be able to do either from Safe Mode.

Ummm, ok? Say I go into Safe mode, go into my program files, and find wmp. Is there an "uninstall option" along with a delete option? I've always just tried delete.

go into control panel and then add/remove programs. It'll bring up a list of everything installed.

Doh! Like I haven't done that a million times. Yes I'm an idiot.
