Conan to get 45 million---WTF

What is wrong with people anymore, what happened to you're done, you suck, go work somewhere else, I personally wouldn't pay 45 dollars to see Conan in person, Leno is a car guy so he rates a notch higher. I guess I am not in the real world anymore here in rural hooterville. Whew---rant over, time to look up porn.

It's a whole diff world than us regular folk. TV people, news readers, sports players and coaches, top dogs at Corporations........if they fuck up or don't want what's offered they leave with a golden parachute.

Conan didn't screw anything up. He was given less than 7 months and was unsupported by the primetime lineup.

This is 100% NBC's screw up. They shouldn't have taken the top dog and moved him to 10 o'clock. They shouldn't have offered Conan the latenight chair 5 years ago. They shouldn't have EVER thought they could "revolutionize" TV by doing a nightly variety show in a time slot where people WANT to see weekly dramas.

They tried to hold onto everyone and everything. They didn't want conan to leave so they offered him the tonight show. They didn't want Leno to go to another network, so they offered him the 10PM gig. That was a DOOOMED move.

You should see all the anger coming from the local stations, because they DEPEND on a strong 10PM show to fund their newscasts. The leno 10PM show was a total ratings disaster, so the local news suffered, and in turn the Tonight show suffered.

Leno was given YEARS to re-establish the tonight show after he took it from Carson. Conan has been given 7 months. Establishing an audience and a feel takes a while.

And the 45 million was NBC's screwup too. That's what they offered him in the contract if they released him. They signed it.

Conan and Leno were both screwed in this deal, and it's all NBC's fault. But both came out alright, so I'll shed them no tears.

Completely agree, NBC has been hurting for a while due to bad decisions and bad leadership by Jeff Zucker. If they need to let anyone go, it's this guy.

Well I am not going to :dh or am I

but I did bring up this subject already, sorta. http://www.stangfix.com/testforum/index.php/topic,4802.0.html

But like I said there the whole 5 days a week was doomed to failure. Should have given Jay 2 nights a week, at the most 3. fd

I also don't care for Conan. I never watched his version of the TS. I actually watched Jay most nights but it wasn't the same.

Yeah agree they did nothing wrong and it was all NBC's fault. I wonder who (the actual person) made that deal with Conan years ago that started this mess.

Its still a business with these guys and Jay is a big player and knows it and uses his power.
