Considering going with 2v heads afterall

As Starfury has been hinting all along, I don't think I'll get the type of performance that I want (low end torque) with my current 4v heads. So instead of taking a big chance and dump moola into these heads I'm considering a set of 2v heads.

Can I get by with open chamber heads or do I really need the aussie closed chamber ones? Pro's, Cons ?

Depends on your pistons. Someone who knows cleve stuff would need to know your piston dome/dish volume to figure out possible compression ratios.

I bet you can sell those 4V heads and pay for a good set of 2V heads and the machine work on them without any problems. You might even look at a set of aftermarket 3V heads.

Per the supplier of the pistons, based up having 61-62cc heads which I do, the compression is 10:1.

Rough guess, but I suspect the open chamber heads will leave you at less than 9:1 CR. Workable, but far from ideal.

To me, you have them, use them. If you don't like the results, then you will know where the problem is and can fix it. From all the other postings, it looks like there are a lot of combos so it is like comparing apples to oranges. Do yours and go with it....

Yes, the one on the right should do the job.

Sooooo, it is feasible that the near impossible was done..... I know how it is, sometimes it is hard to get the mind wrapped around what you want to do. Some decisions suck just getting to the results.

Yes, I hate having to make decisions on issues I'm not too familiar with such as these cleveland enjun thingies. Yes, new 1pc valves and springs have been ordered. Going to take the heads in tomorrow to a local shop that has a 70 Mach I with a cleveland 4v motor.

Craig,
I doubt the 4v heads are going to in any way effect your ability to destroy your tires, if you know what I mean. I think you'll be happy with a deep breathing engine with good top-end performance, especially behind that 5 speed :gs
