Correct colour of shock absorbers

Hello all: I will be replacing the front shocks on my /66 289 coupe and would like to paint them a more original colour than the grabber blue that these new Munroes' are. Thanks. Mark Hone

Semigloss black ought to be the ticket, I know Ford used something similar at the factory.
