Correct vacuum modulator for my transmission?

I recently replaced my leaking vacuum modulator on my C4 (68 coupe) with one that had a white stripe on it and im feeling it may be incorrect as the tranny now shifts out of first and into 2nd at around 5 mph haha. The shifting from 2nd to 3rd is normal however. I know about the adjustment screw in the modulator, but i have a feeling that im not using the correct piece. Is there another unit perhaps with a different color stripe that i should be using?

Yeah, thats what i had been reading other places so thats what i got. I swapped them out and no difference though, still shifts out of first wayyy too early, whether its light throttle or full throttle its out of first and into second at about 5 mph... :shrug

So i came back and turned the little adjustment screw in (clockwise) one complete turn because i read this is the direction you turn it to delay the shifts. Seemed to make it worse actually. Soooo, idk where to go from here.

EDIT: Well this goes to show to take what you read online with a grain of salt. The little instruction booklet with the modulator says counterclockwise will delay shifting. So ill go give that a try and report back

Damn instructions anyway...........they should have spoke up and told you the internet was wrong......
