courtesy lights stay on - coupe 66

hello all
Courtesy lights (4 of them) stay on even when the doors are closed. That just happened in the last few days. Did nothing special. It just happened. Anybody any idea on how to fix the problem? Thank you for your help.

There are two ways this can happen:
(1) your headlamp switch is fully clockwise (or counterclockwise...I forget) that will give you full dash illumination. There is a detent at one end that turns on the courtesy lamps.
(2) one or both of your door jamb switches are bad. To test, remove one door jamb switch (be careful, as you can short the always hot green/yellow wires against the chassis). Unplug the switch from the two plugs and see if that stops the lights. If not, reattach and go to the other door jamb.

My guess is the headlamp switch itself.

And you guess was correct... That was the headlamp switch. Interesting.
thank you for your prompt help
