Customer service should not be in India!

guruatbol

Always on vacation!
Dell has been giving me the run around with a few issues and it is all based in India! They just suck!

I am going to start asking if a company's support is in India or anywhere overseas before I buy. If it is I am going to have to really think about whether it is worth it to me to buy their product!!!!!

I have overseas call centers!

I had the same issue with Dell. Someone had used my ID to buy computer stuff and I had to resolve all that through guys in India....Stupid. High tech company with absolutely awful phone systems. Then they were in India too!

Finally got it resolved but I don't think I would buy Dell stuff since experiencing what I did...

Well, don't buy HP either. They handle our level 1 help desk, and trying to decipher what the hell they're trying to say in the tickets is all but pointless. I just hope they get the phone number right, then I figure out the problem. Wait, it gets better. Not only do all pc related calls go through India, but all network issues go through Brazil. Those fools will call me a 4-5 am to tell me a branch is down. Yea, thanks for that. I already got the 3 emails that go out when that happens.
Them moving both call centers out of country has caused more problems than I care to type.

Just to give you an idea of the run around that our own people get.
They call the help desk..in India. They make some half assed English ticket, then send it to remote support. They might get lucky and get someone who can speak English. Half the time remote is useless, say it's a hardware issue or something they can't fix, and send it my way. I call the client, and in 10 minutes have them running. And this is EVERY EFFING DAY! Now I see why people have my cell number on speed dial. I'm starting to think there's a shrine devoted to me somewhere in Colorado, because it seems I'm the only one who can get their laptops to work.

Dell is persona non grata in my household after I had one too many
run-ins with their overseas collection folks over a laptop loan that my
wife co-signed on with the daughter. Suffice to say they made it
extremely difficult to make the payments- almost Catch 22 type stuff.
I paid the loan off in full in disgust and ripped their head honco a
new @$$ (Steven Schofield, CEO & President) via letter. Took me
awhile to find that twerp and his correct address.
Apparently I somewhat got his attention as he personally called us
at home and tried to apologize for the BS.
