This will be the biggest cyclone in the recorded history of OZ.
It is expected to grow to Cat 5 as it hits the warmer water on the Great Barrier Reef.
It will hit Cairns about 8.00 pm tonight with winds to 279kmh and a 6m surge on the high tide.
They have already evacuated the city centre and ordered 30,000 people out of there homes.
My son, partner & granddaughter were ordered out at 11.00pm last night, so they packed the car and headed to our house, 1650km's south.
They should be here about 3.00pm.
The predictions are that Yasi's size will keep the cyclone active till Mount Isa, which is 1200km's inland. This is unheard of as they usually turn to rain depressions within a few hours.
There are lots of Mustang owners up that way and i hope all are safe. I hope everyone is safe, even chebby owners, but there will be a high death rate with this one, that is almost guaranteed.
The government and military here learnt a lot from Katrina, so that will help.
