Daughter called and said funny thing just happened

guruatbol

Always on vacation!
Well, I was waiting to load my group and my middle daughter Cheyanne, who lives in ND called. She said that a funny thing just happened. I asked her to tell me. She said well we just had my Durrango (1998) started to make a chugging sound and then when I pulled over I lost my power steering.

HTH is this funny?

Well, I had her call the the roadside assistance and get towed back into town. She called later and told me she was at the repair shop and they told her that she threw a rod. The rod broke and twisted the oil dip stick around it and this was why she couldn't get the dip stick out earlier when she tried to get all the info to tell me.

Sigh, I guess we will be calling the junk yard and have them take it away....Then buy another car for her. this just sucks!

If anyone wants it and is near ND, PM me. She is going to try to get rid of it first for $500...

Only time I've thrown a rod was in my '68 Cougar. Piston broke, piston wrist then went through the side wall of the cylinder, thus grenading the rod cap. and then shoving the crank end of the rod through the oil pan. What a mess! Happened on Interstate 80 and caused one hell of a racket, when it went.

Heck depending on where she is in ND only about 12-13 hundred miles just a hop, skip, and jump for a seasoned Bus Driver like yourself and you can sure see some pretty country on the way with dam tourist pestering you.

I use to hop in my old bus and head accross country 3-4 times a years and do it in 3 days.................. that was then and now it would take 3 weeks having to stop every hour or so.................... Getting old's a bitch :wtf
