Dave windshield wiper question

Dave do you buy refills for your windshield wipers or do you buy a new wiper that connects to the rod? This question is more for "modern" cars and not so much for our vintage rides. fd

I always used to buy the refills. But between the parts store not having the refills, or not the right type. But they always seem to have an adequate supply of the new wipers. Thought maybe there was a reason for this other than profit margin. We have a very short rainy season here, the wipers are used more for getting the dew off the windshield in the morning. Always make sure that the SWMBO vehicles are working properly. fd

So Dave, do you order them or does the eastern part of the state have better parts stores?

I have to ask the guys at the parts counter. They have them in back and do not display them. I think is due to profit margin.

The ice and mud combo out here takes a toll on the wipers, I replace the whole smeal twice a year on all 3 vehicles. You need a fresh set when winter rolls in and by spring, they're shot.

When I lived in FL, I only needed to get the refills.

I haven't found wiper refills since about 2000...bastids are just trying to get more $$ from us!
